This tree has been visited by one of the country's pre-eminent tree surgeons in the country. He proclaimed it to be the largest Norway Maple in North Carolina. We now have two plaques. The first as a "Treasured Tree of Buncombe County" and the second officially proclaiming our tree as "the tallest known Norway Maple in North Carolina". It's official at last!
